1. How do I contact Onyum™?
1) Login and Message your Project Manager.
2) Buy a Chat for $5 and Chat with a Project Manager for 20 minutes.
3) Send a Message direct at our site. Returning clients, include your Project ID.

2. What about project updates?
Login to the project tool, request an update and it will be posted within one business day.
3. Award declined, invitation ignored, no communication, offer retracted — why?
Hooligans are always trying to waste our time. So, everything goes through a profiling system and suspect hooligans flagged: no communication, offer retracted, invitation ignored, award declined, etc. To remove the flag, Message direct at our site, buy a $5 Chat, recharge or fund an account.
4. What are your hours of operation?
We're open and your Project Manager is available Monday through Friday 10AM to 4PM CDT. We're closed holidays, Saturdays and Sundays. That said, we are staffed, production runs 24/7 and we assist clients and tire-kickers as best we can when we're closed.
5. Do you keep backups of my files and deliverables?
Nope. Keep a rolling inventory of everything we produce on your PC. Always backup everything.
6. How soon is my project delivered and how much will it cost?
Projects are delivered as fast as possible for $15hr. If you want a firm delivery date and/or project price, consider a Quote. Most clients simply open a New Account and we proceed with their project.
7. How do I track expended hours for my project?
Ask your Project Manager for a Time Report, having addressed any pending recharge.
8. Do you provide staging servers or use my webhost?
Either is fine with us. It's usually best to develop on your webhost to assure compatibility. When we develop on your webhost, we will not disrupt your site's normal operation. All will be produced, tested and reviewed in hidden directories/files not available to your site visitors.
9. What type of access do you need to my webhost? Tutoring? Apple/Mac files?
If we do any work at your webhost, you will need to supply us with site-wide, admin-level access to all available areas. All supplied usernames and passwords must be random alpha-numeric and any email addresses must be random alpha-numeric and from your domain.

Don't order our services if you won't give us access to your webhost, want us to coach you on how to install our deliverables or are looking for any kind of coaching or tutoring services. We don't work like that. It's no fun and always a waste of our time and your money.

Other than production required for iPhone/iPad projects, we do not work with Apple/Mac files.
10. I need to share lots of project files, large files. What do we do?
We have a solution. Message your Project Manager.
11. Does Onyum™ provide website marketing services: SEM, links, Adwords, etc?
No. We don't provide offsite marketing services of any kind.
12. Does Onyum™ provide Search Engine Optimization?
Yes. Tell your assigned Project Manager you want SEO.
13. Does Onyum™ provide merchant account API and/or shopping cart solutions?
Yes. We provide shopping cart integration and customization for any API/cart. We've worked with them all.
14. What is the allowable for Guesstimates and Estimates?
The allowable is a buffer that allows a more friendly approach to specifications. Guesstimates have a 50% allowable and cost $50. Estimates have a 25% allowable and cost $150. Below are examples of each...

Guesstimate: client purchases a Guesstimate for $50 and posts specifications. We provide a Guesstimate of 2 weeks and 40hrs at $15hr, project price $600. Client pays the $600 project price and we proceed. So long as the specifications are delivered within 3 weeks (2weeks+50%) and/or within 60hrs (40hrs+50%) or $900, we have not exceeded the 50% Guesstimate allowable. If we exceed the time and/or price by more than the 50% Guesstimate allowable, we refund 25% of the quoted $600 project price, $150.

Estimate: client purchases an Estimate for $150 and posts specifications. We provide an Estimate of 4 weeks and 120hrs at $15hr, project price $1800. Client pays the $1800 project price and we proceed. So long as the specifications are delivered within 5 weeks (4weeks+25%) and/or within 150hrs (120hrs+25%) or $2,250, we have not exceeded the 25% Estimate allowable. If we exceed the time and/or price by more than the 25% Estimate allowable, we refund 50% of the quoted $1800 project price, $900.

Quotes must be ordered before a project enters Design/Production. Quotes are valid for 15 days from the date of issue and must be funded for the full Quoted project price before we proceed.
15. How much should I budget for my project?
You know what you can afford to pay. Share your target budget with assigned Project Manager. We'll do all we can to meet your budget. Most clients simply open a New Account and we proceed with their project.
16. How is the $15hr charged and what are payment terms?
Time is expended in 6min/.1hr increments, $1.50 each 6min/.1hr. Everything we do for you and your project is $15hr. Request a Time Report anytime. Message your Project Manager and your Time Report will be posted to your project. Any pending recharge will need to be met before a Time Report is posted. We do not post Time Reports for accounts with a pending recharge.

Payments are in-advance. We do not accept escrow payments. We accept credit and debit card payments. Service will begin when payment has cleared to our account. Payment is your acceptance of everything in this FAQ, Legal and My Project.
17. What is an Account Recharge?
When your purchased hours are expended we request an Account Recharge. If your account is not recharged, your project is archived and your spot in the Production Queue forfeited. We do not provide service, support or Time Reports for projects with a pending recharge.
18. My project is archived. How do I get it re-activated?
Message, include your Project ID and your project will be reactivated. If your purchased hours are expended, if there's a pending recharge, recharge your account, then Message direct at your site with your Project ID and your project will be reactived. Properly funded projects are always given higher priority.
19. How do I access the demo account for the project tool?
Credentials for the demo account are here.
20. Do you speak English? Is Onyum a US business? Is this a Green Business?
Onyum is owned by a privately held US corporation. Everyone you'll work with is from Australia, England, New Zealand or the US. English is our native language. Yes, this is a Green Business.
21. How do we get started?
Three steps...

1) Fund your account.

2) You'll be assigned a dedicated Project Manager and supplied with project tool credentials. During regular business hours, this takes an hour or so. Any other time, next business day.

3) Your Project Manager is your primary point of contact. Your Project Manager collects and confirms your project access, assets and direction. When your Project Manager has everything we need, your project is sent to Design/Production. Once your project is in Design/Production, you are provided with ongoing reviews and support until your project is delivered the way you want it.
22. Will I have direct contact with my project's coders and designers?
Nope. Your assigned Project Manager is your sole, dedicated point of contact.
23. What kind of quality can I expect?
Quality is a reflection of hours invested. Our capabilities are sufficient for any project, for anyone: students to brand managers at some of the largest companies in the world.
24. Do you offer emergency service?
Nope. All our projects are delivered as fast as possible and that's fast enough for 99% of our clients. If you require emergency service, don't work with us.
25. My project will take XX hours or no more than XX hours. How do we proceed?
We do not accept client estimates. If this is how you want to work with us order a Quote.
26. Onyum bid Xhrs/$X. How many hours will it take? How much will my project cost?
We market our services at various freelancer sites. At these freelancer sites you may be provided with an opportunity to fund an account for more/less than our standard $375. Whatever is offered, unless specifically discussed and agreed otherwise, is an offer to purchase a block of hours and has no bearing on your total project cost. If you want a fixed-priced, an estimate, buy a Quote.
27. How do I get a refund of my remaining account balance?
Message your assigned Project Manager and request a refund of your remaining account balance. Production is stopped the minute your assigned Project Manager confirms your request, your account balance refund request is sent to Accounting and processed in 15 business days. We do not provide refunds for hours already expended nor deliverables already designed or produced.
28. Will I be pampered? What about barter, discounts or profit-sharing?
We provide good consultation, service and deliverables. But, we do not pamper our clients. We have zero tolerance for pushy, rude, unprofessional clients. If you need to be pampered, don't work with us.

We don't barter, discount or profit share. Nothing in this FAQ, Legal or My Project is negotiable.
29. Will my deliverables be recycled, resold or shared? What about an NDA?
We do not recycle, resell or share anything we produce for our clients. You pay for it and it's yours.

If you need an executed NDA/IPA/confidentiality agreement open a New Account, share your document(s), we'll send your document(s) to our attorney for review. If approved, your agreements will be executed. If declined, your account balance is refunded.
30. When do I post feedback for the project I awarded Onyum?
Clients sourced through any freelancer channel (e.g. Elance, Freelancer, iFreeelance, etc.) will be requested to provide feedback when we have delivered hours equal to the initial purchase. The requested feedback must be provided before additional service is provided. If you want different timing for feedback, that must be discussed with your Project Manager before your project goes to Design/Production.
31. Can I get service when you're closed?
Perhaps. Message direct at our site and staff will assist you as soon as they can. At a minimum, expect a reply next business day. Higher priority is always given to properly funded accounts.
32. How do I send a package, call or visit Onyum's offices?
You don't. We're professionals working from locations all over the world. If you want to work with a solution provider who uses snail-mail, provides phone support or has offices, don't work with us.
33. Why Onyum™ and what's Onyuk.com?
Onyum.com was available, trademark abandoned and we bought the domain. Onyuk.com - we market through many channels. Some channels don't allow outside contact. We needed a way to share our site without providing contact information or gathering visitors' personal data – that is what Onyuk.com offers. Onyuk.com has nearly everything you will find at our actual site; with all contact, payments and information collection tools disabled or removed.
34. What about Smartphone (Android, Blackberry, iOS, Windows) projects?
If you need an interactive, cross-platform SmartPhone solution, open an account for $375 and we will proceed. If your SmartPhone solution will be embedded on a specific SmartPhone platform, we do require a minimum initial account funding of $1500.
35. How do I close my account? How do I get a refund?
Message your Project Manager, request an Account Balance Refund, your request is sent to Accounting, your project archived and your refund issued in 15 business days, $150 each week. We do not provide refunds for expended hours or services already provided. If this doesn't work for you, don't work with us.
36. What's the deal with the $10hr, $15hr and $20hr rates?
Supply and demand determines our hourly rate. Hours purchased are credited to your account. A change in our hourly rate does not change the hours available on your account.
37. I'm seeing providers with many more reviews than Onyum. Why?
Many providers fake their feedback/reviews. A fake project is posted through a schill buyer and glorious feedback/reviews are posted. The practice is rampant. The freelancer sites have no reason to stop it.
38. I prefer to work through a freelancer site. It's safer. Right?
Nope. Freelancer sites are an illusion of security and a haven for hooilgans who'll try and steal your money. For the time being, we are not working at any freelancer sites. The corruption/fraud/greed at the freelancer sites combined with the scarcity of real/valid projects no longer justifies the expense.
39. But, I can use escrow at the freelancer sites. Isn't that safer?
Your best and cheapest form of protection is to pay with a credit card and file a chargeback if you're not happy. Regardless of what the freelancer sites may lead you to believe, escrow services, dispute programs and anything else they might promote are secondary to any chargeback you might file.
40. No need to read the FAQ. I'll just purchase a $5 Chat. OK?
The vast majority of $5 Chats purchased at our site are for something covered in our FAQ. Please don't waste our time or your money. Read the FAQ before you purchase a $5 Chat. After purchasing your $5 Chat, Message and Support Services will assist you as needed. Don't want to pay $5 to Chat, that's fine too. Submit the Message form on any page. Either way, read the FAQ first.
41. Ran across negative gossip about Onyum. What's the deal?
Yes, five people have libeled us and/or posted trash about Onyum with the sole intention of damaging our business: three competitors and two others who were refused service. We refuse service to ~1% of the people who contact us. Why? Because they refuse to work with us as is clearly disclosed in our FAQ.
42. Do you register domain names?
Nope. Consider GoDaddy. Try a search with 'cheap domain registration' and save a few bucks.
43. Hosting & Service monthly subscription. What's the deal?
Subscribe, host your domain with us and get hours each month for coding / design / support. Included are 6-18hrs of coding/design/support, cPanel, 1GB of storage, 3GB of transfer. You will need to Message prior to ordering your hosting subscription for pre-approval.
44. No need to pay $375, I'll get the $75 subscription. OK?
That's fine. You'll need a domain hosted with us. Subscription hours are exclusive to that same domain.
